It is based on extracts from the published writings of Attingham alumni from all over the world, and covers a wide range of subjects under the headings, architecture and interior design, fine arts and decorative arts. Attingham: Fifty Eventful Years
This book, published in 2002, is a sequel to Attingham: The First Forty Years produced ten years earlier. As the Anthology above, both were written by Dr Geoffrey Beard. This edition gives a summary of the history of the Attingham Trust and the three summer courses, with a fuller account of the years, 1992-2001 complete with a list of the alumni attending during this period.
Only a limited number of copies are available @ £5. They can be ordered by contacting Rebecca Parker, Email: email@example.com
Opening Doors: Learning in the Historic Environment
In summer 2004 the Attingham Trust issued it’s report Opening Doors: Learning in the Historic Environment, edited by Giles Waterfield. The result of three years’ research and consultation, the report studies educational provision in a wide range of historic buildings and sites across the British Isles and the Irish Republic, with numerous case studies of current best practice. It makes numerous recommendations to Government and to other bodies for improvements in an active but fragmented and heavily under-resourced field.
