CRISTINA ALFONSIN

Cristina moved to Southampton in 1994 after studying English and North American Literature at Universidad de Salamanca. She worked in international bulk liquid logistics for nearly 10 years before moving with family to the US. In 2009 she took a turn in her career and after completing an MLitt in Decorative Arts at University of Glasgow/Christie’s Education, she was an intern at British Museum, Royal Collection Trust, Orleans House Gallery and Gunnersbury Park Museum. She joined the Rothschild Foundation as Collections Manager in 2014 working at Spencer House and Waddesdon Manor. In 2020 to embarked on a part-time PhD at University of York writing on The Vulliamys and the London Luxury Market. Alongside her PhD studies she has organised the Tercentenary Grinling Gibbons exhibitions, freelanced at Pitzhanger Manor and collaborated with the FHS and the AHS on the organisation of study trips abroad.
