Helen Jacobsen, DPhil

Helen was formerly Senior Curator and Curator of French 18th-century Decorative Arts at the Wallace Collection. She has curated exhibitions on the French eighteenth century and collecting history, including most recently Inspiring Walt Disney. The Animation of French Decorative Arts at the Wallace Collection, a collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has published on French furniture and decorative art as well as the collecting of the eighteenth century in the nineteenth century, and was most recently editor of Jean-Henri Riesener. Cabinetmaker to Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette (PWP, 2020). She has taught at the universities of Oxford and Buckingham, and her experience with Attingham includes a term as co-Director of the Attingham Summer School (2009-2012). She is a member of the Council of the French Porcelain Society and the Grants Committee of the Furniture History Society and is a Trustee of the Leche Trust.
