The Attingham Society
The Attingham Society, based in the UK, is a membership organisation founded in 1985 for alumni who have attended one of the courses run by The Attingham Trust: Attingham Summer School, Royal Collection Studies, Attingham Study Programme, French Eighteenth-Century Studies, and the London House Course. One of the strengths of The Attingham Trust is that the courses bring together people from varying disciplines and from many different cultures, united by a common interest in heritage and the visual arts, and many lasting professional and personal friendships are made.
The Trust maintains its community of alumni through The Attingham Society working in close co-operation with the American Friends of Attingham. Both groups organize lectures, conferences and visits as well as issuing newsletters and e-bulletins with news of their events. Alumni Ambassadors in many countries maintain links with their compatriots who have attended the courses.

The Attingham Society Scholarship Fund
There is no membership subscription for the Attingham Society and as an educational charitable trust we receive no government funding. It is through generous support from external bodies, private individuals and alumni that The Attingham Trust provides financial assistance to enable as many applicants to attend its programmes as possible.
The Society would like to encourage all members to contribute towards an Attingham Society Scholarship Fund to allow future colleagues to have the ‘Attingham’ experience. We hope very much that current and new members will feel inspired to contribute to such a fund either on an annual basis with a standing order of £15 or more, or by a donation by cheque (payable to ‘The Attingham Society’). Forms are available as downloadable PDFs at the bottom of this page. Payment can also be made by using the electronic facility below. If you are a UK tax-payer we will be able to claim Gift Aid on the amount.
