Attingham Alumni Visit: Norwich Castle – A Palace Reborn

We are delighted to invite Attingham alumni to a special curator-led visit to Norwich Castle, hosted by Dr Andrew Moore. Following the completion of the landmark Norwich Castle: Royal Palace Reborn project, this visit offers a unique opportunity to explore one of the UK’s most significant heritage transformations.
William of Normandy’s 12th-century Castle Keep has been transformed into a fully accessible royal palace, enabling visitors to experience all five floors, from the basement to the rooftop battlements. The visit will include the immersive medieval displays, recreated royal interiors and the new British Museum Medieval Gallery, bringing together more than 900 medieval objects and treasures.
Participants will be welcomed by project curator Dr Tim Pestell, who will introduce the Keep and its transformation. Attingham alumna Dr Francesca Vanke will present highlights of the British Museum Medieval Gallery before joining Andrew for a tour of the permanent fine and decorative art galleries in the afternoon.
The visit will begin at 11.00am and will include curator-led tours throughout the day. Participants are welcome to purchase lunch independently in the museum café.
