Last-Minute Scholarship Opportunity: The Decorative Arts Trust – Scotland Study Trip 2026
Two last-minute scholarship places have become available for The Decorative Arts Trust Study Trip – Scotland: Country Houses, Craftsmanship, and Collections, taking place from 18–26 June 2026.
This exceptional programme offers participants the opportunity to explore Scotland’s great country houses, collections, and historic interiors through a carefully curated itinerary across Glasgow, Edinburgh, the Borders, and the surrounding countryside. Visits include Culzean Castle, Dumfries House, Gosford House, Hopetoun House, Arniston House, Mellerstain, and many other significant houses and collections, with access guided by leading curators, historians, and private owners.
The programme may be of particular interest to emerging professionals, interns, and graduate students whose academic or professional interests relate to the decorative arts, architectural history, country houses, or the historic environment. The scholarships cover all programme registration fees; recipients would be responsible only for travel to Glasgow at the start of the trip and from Edinburgh at its conclusion.
Applicants are invited to submit a CV together with a short statement (250–500 words) outlining how participation in the programme would support their current or future academic or professional work.
Applications will remain open until the places are filled.
